Specify the use behind the shape
A decorative vase, a water-holding vessel and a planted container have different requirements. State the opening and overall dimensions, stability needs, whether drainage is required, and whether the item must hold water. Confirm these points on the approved sample rather than inferring them from the product photograph.
Review a family of sizes and finishes
A coherent range may combine complementary forms instead of simply resizing one shape. Choose the glaze palette and surface texture, then review how they appear on each form. Provide the intended quantity and delivery market so carton protection, retail packaging and any testing can be quoted alongside the ceramics.
Compare ceramic vases, cachepots and planters for your range
Choose the container by how your customer will use it. A similar silhouette can serve as a decorative vase, a cover for a nursery pot or a directly planted container. Those uses need different sample checks and packaging.
| Product route | Intended role | Points to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Decorative vase | Display branches, dried stems or an empty sculptural form. | Confirm opening, overall height, base stability and protection for narrow necks. If fresh flowers are intended, agree water retention and a suitable sample check. |
| Cachepot / pot cover | Hold a separate nursery pot as part of a home or gift display. | Give the nursery-pot dimensions and required clearance, including the opening and internal base. Confirm whether water may collect inside and how the finish should be protected. |
| Direct-planting container | Plant directly in the ceramic vessel. | Specify the opening, internal space, drainage hole and any saucer. Review the assembled fit, stability, water handling and intended indoor or outdoor use. |
Approve the vessel and its packing as one specification
For each size, record the outside dimensions, usable opening, base and required function. Review the chosen glaze on the actual shape: pooling, texture and colour can look different around rims and relief details. For nested packing, agree separation between pieces; for individual boxes, protect the rim and projecting parts. Compare quotations using the same quantity by size, finish, accessories and packing basis.
Build your product shortlist
Download the selected references as a spreadsheet-ready CSV. It contains the product names, reference numbers and product links shown on this page, with blank fields for your quantities, target dimensions, decoration, packaging and destination. Specifications and commercial terms are confirmed in your quotation.

Ceramic vase or planter: what to confirm before ordering
Use this checklist to prepare the specification and requirements for your selected references.

| Decision | Information to provide or confirm |
|---|---|
| Vases for fresh flowers | Overall height, opening and base dimensions, stability and whether the vessel must hold water. Ask for water-retention confirmation on the selected sample. |
| Decorative vases | Display purpose, size, neck opening, surface texture and glaze reference. Decorative styling alone does not establish suitability for water or food contact. |
| Planters and cachepots | Internal dimensions, drainage hole or no drainage, saucer or other accessories, intended indoor or outdoor use and relevant finish requirements. |
| Range and packing | Quantity per shape and size, coordinated finishes, retail packaging, protective carton layout, target price and destination market. |
LWTIN supports ceramic development and wholesale enquiries from Dehua, Fujian, China. Compare existing-form customisation and new OEM/ODM development, then send your selected references and requirements. MOQ, sample timing, production schedule and final specifications are confirmed for the project.
Questions from wholesale buyers
Can you make a new planter or vase shape?
New mould development can be discussed using your drawing or reference images, intended dimensions and commercial brief.
Are all pictured vases watertight and all planters supplied with drainage?
No assumption should be made. Confirm water retention, drainage, accessories and intended use for each selected reference.
Send a focused sourcing brief
Include reference images, dimensions, quantity, target price, destination market and intended use. Ask the LWTIN team to confirm MOQ, sampling, packaging and any required testing for the selected product.
